Upgrading the Princeton Tec EOS

Having ordered the Dinnote 200L to upgrade my primary bike light it was time to evaluate my secondary light. Was it worth it, throwing time and money to improve an already good light? Technology has moved very fast in the LED field in the years since I got my light. Searched the web and what do you know an illustrated step by step how-to upgrade the Princeton Tec EOS swapping the LED with a new more powerful/

Dinotte 200L vs 3W

So it was time again to start thinking about lights for night riding, commute, off and on road. I've been hearing about the relatively new Dinotte 200L (4 AA batteries) for a while so I decided to check prices. It turned out Dinotte has a bare light, just the light (which they call the "engine") without the charger, batteries and helmet mount for $105. UPDATED DiNotte 3W dual Battery holder hack I need a light that will run at least four hours on a single set of batteries, that way I can carry two sets for a night 's worth of riding, one installed and one in the backpack. According to DiNottes's website if I use Lithium disposable batteries I should get 30% more running time out of them. so that is 130 minutes for four AA; two sets of 4 AAs connected in parallel (positive to positive, negative to negative) will provide me with 260 minutes or a little over 4 h 20 minutes of high beam. That should do.

la la la pow!, psfssfssfss

La la la inside my head, happy songs that come to me when riding and not by means of a silly iPod crap thank you. Anyways, the weather was very nice, Freaky flat I was having a good ride like most times then all of the sudden I head this POW! followed by a pssfssfssfssfss, after years of riding I know what that means, the tire - rear one in this case - blew off. So now I am trying to do a controled stop on a Sunday afternoon busy Golden Gate Bridge west sidewalk. The bike does not respond well but at least is the rear tire and I am on smooth concrete.
